Wensleydale

Wensleydale, or more precisely the side valley of Sleddale, is our home. Above and behind us is Drumaldrace on Wether Fell, in front Ten End and Dodd Fell. From our back door you can watch the low morning cloud roll in from Garsdale in the West; look over to Hardraw, home of the longest single drop waterfall in England; and watch as folk travel to and from Swaledale over the famed Buttertubs Pass.

Journey down this majestic dale, through Hawes towards Layburn, and you'll pass the flat top fells of Addlebrough and Pen Hill;  the iconic Lady Hill and the imposing fortress of Bolton Castle;  the cascading falls at Aysgarth and the Roman's High Cam Road ascending straight as a die at Bainbridge; all connected by the meandering River Ure; not to mention the beautiful side valleys of Raydale and Bishopdale, or the high roads over Oxnop and Grinton Moor that drop into Swaledale.
